How do you suggest we measure The Maturity of HR.

We are exactly on the same topic to figure out where we should be focussing next in our HR organization.. Any tools or surveys out there to help measure the maturity of the HR organization for a 2000 employee company?

Hi Rob

Thanks for the kind comments about my book - thought you might like to know the publishers have asked me to write a 2nd edition - out later this year. This time it's aimed directly at CEO's - who needs the HR 'middleman'?

Best regards

Rob, insightful and thought provoking as usual.

In the good times HR wanted to share the kudos of being a strategic fundamental of all successful business, I believe the HR community now have to take their share of the inevitable fall out from such decisions.

Couldn't agree more, Rob. "HR management" is a vital function (it could be argured the most-vital function) of any manager's job. The good ones I know have it figured out and use the HR department within that paradigm.

I think David is correct. The days of large, overly complicated HR software suites is coming to an end. Most companies don't need all of the bells and whistles and all of the costs that go along with that. They just need a piece of functionality.
